They will practice throwing, catching, batting, and base running. They will progress from hitting off tees to soft toss, and on to underhand pitching. Soft baseballs will be used. Continue learning the rules and strategies involved in various game situations. Focus is on the fundamentals of fielding grounds balls and fly balls correctly, as well as proper hitting techniques. Hit underhand pitching from coaches using soft baseballs. Play games using all the rules, while continuing to develop basic skills of the game. Begin using more advanced skills: stealing bases, bunting, cut-off plays, and more. Hitting will be done against overhand pitching and pitching machines with real baseballs. *Rain make-ups will be on Tuesdays or Fridays. Following a cancellation, an email will be sent out confirming the make-up date. Indicate a shirt size when registering. If you register after the deadline, you are not guaranteed a shirt. It is designed to teach the fundamentals of the game: fielding, grounding, catching, hitting, base running and using a tee. Soft baseballs will be used. This is an age appropriate activity and our first priority is for the kids to have fun. Indicate a shirt size when registering. If you register after the deadline, you are not guaranteed a shirt.
