Great Lakes Combatives Staff Intro To Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - Youth: If you’ve ever seen kids instinctively grab, hold, and try to topple each other while playing, you’ve already seen the beginnings of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). In this 8-session beginner course, students learn how to channel those natural instincts into the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a safe, structured environment. Classes focus on balance, movement, and simple techniques that teach control, leverage, and basic self-defense skills while building confidence and coordination. No experience required. Intro to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - Teen: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is often called “human chess.” Like wrestling, it’s a form of grappling—but where wrestling emphasizes speed and takedowns, BJJ focuses on control, leverage, and strategy. In this 8-session beginner course, teens learn core positions, escapes, and basic techniques while improving mobility, strength, and focus. Classes are beginner-friendly and designed to challenge students while helping them build real skills and confidence on the mat. No prior experience required. greatlakescombatives.com/
