About Youth Trips

Litchfield Community Education & Recreation strives to offer a wide variety of enrichment opportunities including youth day trips during out of school time (non-school days & summer). The goals of these trips are to promote new experiences, develop strong peer relationships and allow opportunities to foster new skills. Trips are chaperoned by Community Education Staff, Dragons Kids Club Staff and/or parent volunteers.

  • Hansel & Gretel's Magical Adventure

    For Grades K-4 (2024-2025 School Year Grade) Friday, November 22 (Lake Ripley Non-School Day) An original musical adaptation of the age-old tale of two siblings and their grand, fun-filled adventure - with lots of laughs, audience participation and lovable characters along the way! Intended for youngsters of all ages, it's the perfect story for the holiday season. Upon returning to the WEB, we will play in the gym and end the day with a movie on the big screen. We encourage everyone to pack a lunch, lots of snacks, and a water bottle. 8:00 AM - Parent drop-off Wagner Main Entrance 10:00 AM - Hansel & Gretel Performance 12:15 PM - Return to WEB, lunch at WEB 12:45-1:15 PM - Gym Games 1:15-2:45 PM - Movie in WEB Gym 2:45-3:00 PM - Parent Pick-up @ WEB Fee: $40.00 Registration deadline: 10/25
  • Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox Musical Grades K-6

    Register by 2023-2024 school grade for this trip (must have completed Kindergarten). Mr. Fox is smart, clever and rather fantastic, but can he save his family and friends from a trio of spiteful, nasty, smelly farmers who are out to get them? This high-spirited, toe-tapping show is a celebration of courage, family, and community, with lots of laughs, audience participation and lovable characters along the way. Join us for this FREE Community Education trip to the Sidekick Theatre in Bloomington for a show and some playtime at the Barb King Inspiration Park in Delano on our way there. Chaperones will be Community Ed Staff and Parent Volunteers. Each student needs to pack a lunch with lots of extra snacks for this trip and a water bottle. We will be ordering trip t-shirts, so please indicate t-shirt size when registering. PARENTS!!! Once your child is registered for this trip, if you would like to volunteer to be a chaperone, please contact Community Education at 320.693.2354 or at litchcommed@isd465.org. Volunteers are required to complete a free volunteer background check form prior to the trip date.
