Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS) ProgramYouth Enrichment ClassesAges 11+ Motivating and Inspiring Minds—Ariane Bromberg The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The students will receive their certification card and instructions to access a digital copy of the CABS student book at the end of class. Topics cover everything from getting started with your business to collaborating with parents and children, safety, safe sleep practices, caregiving, emergencies, and basic first aid. CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete the core learning objectives to receive certification, valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Registration deadline is one week prior to class date. Home Alone!Youth Enrichment ClassesAges 8+ Motivating and Inspiring Minds—Ariane Bromberg Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after-school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and basic first aid tips. Students attend this class independently, and parents are encouraged to review the information and discuss it with their child/children after class. Kindergarten Readiness Ages 5-6Youth Enrichment ClassesThe first day of kindergarten can be an anxious moment for both parent and child. This class can help eliminate anxiety by giving your child an introduction to the places, activities, and people involved in kindergarten. Parents/guardians will be given the opportunity to participate on the last day. Child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2026 to enter kindergarten this fall. Snack will be provided. From the magical ocean kingdom of mermaids to a mysterious shipwreck and the grand halls of Prince Eric’s castle, the excitement never stops. Join Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula, King Triton, Sebastian, Flounder, and many more beloved characters as this classic story comes to life on stage. Throughout the program, young actors will explore the world of theater while learning basic stage directions, building confidence in their dramatic expressions, and strengthening their projection skills. Participants will rehearse scenes, develop their characters, and work together as a cast to bring the story to life. Ready, Set, First Grade! Ages 6-7Youth Enrichment ClassesHere is your first grader's opportunity to take part in a weeklong first grade experience. We will talk all about classroom routines, expectations, and teachers. You and your child will get a chance to answer any questions before the school year begins. We will have a parent event on Friday at 10:30am to show parents a little snapshot of what we do in first grade and provide time to ask any questions. Virtual ACT Test Prep CourseYouth Enrichment Classes*For students enrolled in grades 10-12 ('26-'27 school year) Advantage Educational Programs To help students prepare for the ACT test, Advantage Educational Programs, in cooperation with Litchfield Community Education, will offer their ACT prep courses to students from Litchfield High School. Are you uneasy about your test-taking skills or unsatisfied with previous ACT results? This may be the course for you. Two different course formats allow students to choose the one that best suits their learning styles and personal circumstances. Students are also able to make up any classes they miss, and all courses may be repeated online at no additional charge. Once enrolled, students are sent an access code for their class via email.
