Litchfield PreschoolLitchfield Public Schools Preschool is an on-site, all early childhood service combined in the pre-k-grade 3 continuum with Lake Ripley School. We have early childhood licensed teachers and use curriculum and assessment tools approved by the Department of Education. We are a 4-Star Parent Aware program and have beautiful facilities for learning that include a playground and gymnasium at the Wagner Education Building. All preschoolers must be potty-trained prior to attending. Busing Information: Transportation to and from preschool needs to be set up by the parents/guardians of the preschooler. We have a partnership with the Central Community Transit (CCT) to be able to offer busing before and after class for our preschool families for a fee. Our hope is that by providing this convenience it will be easier for families to participate in high quality learning experiences. There are only preschoolers on the bus. If you are interested in more information regarding busing and/or fees for busing, contact CCT or visit https://www.cctbus.org/. Scholarships: There is tuition assistance available to help pay for your child’s tuition if your family financially qualifies. To be considered for a scholarship we need the School’s Educational Benefits Application filled out and returned to the office. There are a limited number of scholarships available. By participating together, Special Olympics Athletes and Unified Partners improve their physical fitness, sharpen their skills, challenge the competition and encourage teamwork. This gentle, short-range yard game has been a favorite for centuries throughout Europe. Bocce Ball is open to all Special Olympic athletes as well as Unified Partners. Indicate a shirt size when registering. Registration is required. All athletes and Unified Partners are required to fill out an application/consent form through Special Olympics MN. Spitfire Track & FieldSpecial OlympicsTrack and field offers a wide range of events: hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put, relays, and more! Registration should be done online or in person through Litchfield Community Education. All athletes are required to fill out an application/consent form for Special Olympics MN. Forms can be found HERE. Participants must bring these forms to the first night of practice. Game jerseys will be provided. Must attend practices in order to be eligible to go to compete at State. Only State athletes will practice June 2, 9 & 16. Regional is May 10th in Cold Spring (must attend if going to State). State is June 20, 21 & 22 at the U of M. Athletes only go on days they are competing and must have a staff or other responsible person with to assist.Winter/Spring 2025

PopularSummer FootballFootballSUMMER DRAGON FOOTBALL: LHS Football Coaching Staff Summer Dragon Skills & Special Teams Camp Grades 2-8 (‘25-’26 Grade): This camp is designed to provide athletes with small group instruction in the areas of throwing, catching, kickoffs, kicking extra points, punting, and long snapping. Athletes will participate in all areas. No equipment is needed. If kids have football spikes, please wear them. Summer Dragon Football Camp Grades 5 & 6 (‘25-’26 Grade): This camp is designed to provide athletes with a basic understanding of the game of football. Athletes will participate in a variety of fundamental skills, ball skills, tackling, blocking, etc. Anyone new to the padded football program will need to purchase football pants with pads (for pants). (The football program does have a supply of extras pants if needed, these are FREE to use!!). All other equipment (helmet, mouth guard, and shoulder pads) will be provided, except shoes. (The football program does have a supply of extras shoes if needed, these are FREE to use!!).
