Country Western Line DancingGroup FitnessJune Classes have been changed to MONDAYS instead of WEDNESDAYS. BEGINNER COUNTRY WESTERN LINE DANCING: Sue Schwinghammer Join us at the beautiful Litchfield Opera House for this beginner class! In the Beginner Country Western Line Dancing class you will learn the top ten beginner dance steps. As an example: shuffle, lock step, vine, jazz box, rock recover, K-step, rocking chair, sailor step, coaster step and more. The music is a combination of old country and some rock ‘n’ roll. Some of the dances you will learn will be Cowboy Hustle, Cowboy Charleston, Lollipop, Wilber, Electric Slide, Boot Scootin' Boogie and even a waltz. New and repeat students are encouraged to join as Sue mixes up the music and dances for each session! Sue attended the Vegas Dance Explosion conference this past November and is excited to share new ideas, music and dances with her students. There will also be optional "field trips" to practice your dance skills with live music. A cowboy boot or a shoe with a leather sole is recommended for this class, but tennis shoes will work. A minimum of 6 participants are required for the class to run. Registration deadlines are one week prior to class start date. First she comes to you prepared with all the necessary credentials. She comes to you bringing the love of instruction, with the study of her instruction, with the correct music, all levels. She will have the students counting, leaming steps, completing dances, and experiencing the joy of dancing. Sue has been with my classes for years. Always fun. This newer musical work written in 2000, land on Broadway in 2008, and is a delightful adaptation of the beloved 1954 film classic, with added Irving Berlin hit songs including “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano” and “Let Me Sing and I’m Happy.” This production is a remount of the 2024 show, honoring the original direction of Michael Brindisi.
