As an example: shuffle, lock step, vine, jazz box, rock recover, K-step, rocking chair, sailor step, coaster step and more. The music is a combination of old country and some rock ‘n’ roll. Some of the dances you will learn will be Electric Slide, Guitars Cadillacs, AA, Fever, Liar, Hoedown, Skelton Sam, Time Marches On, Twenty-two, Choosin' Texas, Glass of Wine, Wagon Wheel, Boot Scootin' Boogie, God Blessed Texas and lots more. Some dances are for Absolute Beginners and some for Beginners and Improvers. New and repeat students are encouraged to join as Sue mixes up the music and dances for each session! The first 30 minutes of class will be an intro/refresher lesson for those that need it and the last hour and a half will be the dances. A cowboy boot or a shoe with a leather sole is recommended for this class, but tennis shoes will work. A minimum of 10 participants are required for the class to run. Registration deadline are one week prior to class start date. A message from Sue - To me, dancing isn't about perfection. It isn't about training. It isn't about whether you were born with rhythm. Dancing is showing up anyway. It's trying something new even when you feel awkward. It's laughing when you mess up. It's moving your body without asking for permission. It's community, It's courage. It's joy. I've seen people walk in shy and walk out glowing. I've seen beginners become leaders. What does being a dancer mean to you? I think it's bigger than steps and counts!Summer 2026 -
