Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS) ProgramYouth Enrichment ClassesAges 11+ Motivating and Inspiring Minds—Ariane Bromberg The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The students will receive their certification card and instructions to access a digital copy of the CABS student book at the end of class. Topics cover everything from getting started with your business to collaborating with parents and children, safety, safe sleep practices, caregiving, emergencies, and basic first aid. CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete the core learning objectives to receive certification, valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Registration deadline is one week prior to class date. GRASP (Grand Rapids Academic Summer Program) Grades K-8Youth Enrichment ClassesGrand Rapids Academic Summer Program is a summer math and reading correspondence program that provides review exercises for children completing kindergarten through grade 8 (use 2025-2026 school year grade). Teachers and curriculum professionals developed this cost efficient substitute for traditional summer school that seeks to help students retain skills learned the past school year. Grades K-3 get a packet and grades 4-8 can choose between online or a packet. For more information visit www.grps.org/grasp. If your child goes to Lake Ripley Elementary or St. Philip's School in Litchfield, we will send home your materials through your child's school. Gymnastics Pre Team Experience Gr. 3-6GymnasticsNEW ACTIVITY This program offers Litchfield-area youth the chance to develop, strengthen, and showcase their gymnastics skills in a positive and encouraging team environment. Gymnasts build confidence, improve technique, and prepare for their next steps - whether that's joining a club team or transitioning into high school gymnastics. PROGRAM GOALS: To foster confidence in each gymnast by celebrating progress, encouraging them to take on new challenges and develop a strong belief in their abilities both on and off the equipment. Instill proper technique and form in all gymnasts by emphasizing body alignment, control and precision in every skill. Through consistent practice, individualized feedback, and focused drills, athletes will develop a strong foundation of correct form that enhances performance and reduces risk of injury. SPECIFICATIONS: Who can join? Open to girls in grades 3–6. Program Highlights: Grades 3–4 will focus on strengthening their form in basic skills and will move onto more challenging skills as the year goes forward. They will learn routines on: bars, beam and floor according to their abilities for the mock meet at the end of the season. Grades 5–6 will focus on preparing for high school gymnastics. They will work on the skills required for each of the four apparatus on the high school level. They will learn routines on bars, beam and floor that can be adapted for competition when they begin on the high school team. Each coach will conduct a skills assessment to determine a starting point and develop goals for their respective teams. All gymnasts participate in an end-of-season mock meet. Optional additional purchase: A leotard for participants to wear at the mock meet. Program Fee: $105 per month. *You will be charged $105 for the first month (January) at time of registration. Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after-school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and basic first aid tips. Students attend this class independently, and parents are encouraged to review the information and discuss it with their child/children after class. Softball T-ball League: Girls Ages 5-8SoftballThis league is for girls that are not yet participating in the traveling fastpitch program. This In-House Softball League is dedicated to offering children ages 5-8 an enjoyable and supportive environment where they can learn and prepare for fastpitch softball. Emphasis will be on creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere that helps young players develop their skills, forge new friendships, and experience the sheer joy of the game, all within a non-competitive setting. Players will be split into teams depending on registration numbers and the league will be a mix of coach-pitch and using a tee. Several volunteer coaches are required to run this activity. Spring Flag Football - LHS Football Coaching Staff This program will provide athletes with a basic understanding of the game of football while playing flag football. Kids will work on team play and sportsmanship. They will develop the following fundamental skills: throwing, catching, running, along with learning the strategies of offense and defense. Virtual ACT Test Prep CourseYouth Enrichment Classes*For students enrolled in grades 10-12 ('25-'26 school year) Advantage Educational Programs To help students prepare for the ACT test, Advantage Educational Programs, in cooperation with Litchfield Community Education, will offer their ACT prep courses to students from Litchfield High School. Are you uneasy about your test-taking skills or unsatisfied with previous ACT results? This may be the course for you. Two different course formats allow students to choose the one that best suits their learning styles and personal circumstances. Students are also able to make up any classes they miss, and all courses may be repeated online at no additional charge. Once enrolled, students are sent an access code for their class via email.
