WaitlistAdvanced Gymnastics (Grades 6-12)GymnasticsInstructor: Stacy Linsmeier Open Gym Gymnastics: This activity is for gymnasts currently on the Litchfield High School gymnastics team in order to prepare for the upcoming season. Athletes will independently work on their skills/routines with help and feedback from Coach Stacy. Sundays from 5:00-7:00pm. Open to advanced gymnasts grades 6-12. Private Gymnastics Lessons (3, 1-hour lessons): Register to get on the waitlist. Once registered on the waitlist, the instructor will reach out and set up times for Wednesday evenings. Once lessons are scheduled, Community Ed will call to take payment. 3, 1-hour lessons will be scheduled with Coach Stacy on Wednesday evenings between 5-8pm. THIS IS A NON-GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY. AirMaxx Trampoline Park Grades K-4Youth TripsSpend the day with Community Education Staff for a trip to AirMaxx Trampoline Park in St. Cloud. Show off your jumping skills while we spend 2 hours on the massive trampolines, playing dodgeball, jumping in the foam pit and see if you have what it take in the ninjas warrior course! Upon returning to the WEB, we will play games in the gym and end the day with a movie on the big screen. Everyone needs to bring a lunch, lots of snacks, and a water bottle. 8:00 AM - Parent Drop-off at WEB lobby 9:00 - 11:00 AM - Jump & Warrior Course at AirMaxx 11:00-11:30 AM - Eat lunch at AirMaxx 12:15-3:00 PM - Gym games & movie at WEB 2:45-3:00 PM - Parent Pick-up at WEB lobby You must fill out a liability form prior to the trip. Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS) ProgramYouth Enrichment ClassesAges 11+ Motivating and Inspiring Minds—Ariane Bromberg The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute gives everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger” style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, and the colorful magazine format of the student book makes learning fun. From getting started with your business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. DC/L Youth WrestlingWrestlingYouth Wrestling Program ('25-'26 Grade): DC/L Wrestling Staff Winter Session: Whether you've been in wrestling before or not, this is a great opportunity for boys and girls to learn! Charging Dragon wrestling coaches use drills and games to teach techniques and skills. Grades 3-6 will have two seasons. The first season (11/20-2/5) is for all athletes and is used to introduce and reinforce skills, while the second season (2/17-3/3) is for advanced wrestlers who wish to continue practicing and competing into February and March. The practice schedule for athletes participating in team events may differ and additional details will be provided at the parent meeting. PARENT/ WRESTLER INFO. Starting SoonFall Boys' Basketball Gr. 4-6BasketballGrades 4-6 Boys' HS Assistant Coach Justin Wittrock The boys will practice the fundamentals of basketball through skill-building activities, and playing games. Players will practice dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense while learning the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and strategy. Each session combines skill development time for playing half court and full court games. During inclement weather, High School Tennis will use the LARC after school and basketball practice will be cancelled. Any cancelled basketball practice will be rescheduled for the next Tuesday or Friday following the cancellation, whichever occurs first. Ryan Dickey (flickr) (CC BY 2.0)Fall FootballFootballFALL DRAGON FOOTBALL: LHS Football Coaching Staff Fall Dragon Tackle Football Program Grades 5 & 6 (‘25-’26 Grade): The focus of the Tackle Football program is to develop the football skills of all players and improve the overall athleticism of all student athletes. All kids will play and have an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of different football positions. Volunteer coaches will teach kids: tackling, blocking and play formations in a fun, safe and encouraging environment. The program will provide a helmet, shoulder pads, mouth guard and game jersey. Participants will need to provide football pants with pads. Baseball/football shoes with rubber cleats are preferred however tennis shoes work as well. Teams will meet twice a week Monday and Thursdays. All participants will receive a T-shirt, please specify size when registering (YM, YL, AS, AM, AL, AXL). *Parents are invited to help coach the 5th and 6th grade teams. Please communicate with Community Education if you are interested in helping. Litchfield is hoping to have three teams during the 2025 season. Fall Flag Football Grades 2-6 (‘25-’26 Grade): This program will provide athletes with a basic understanding of the game of football while playing flag football. Kids will work on team play and sportsmanship. They will develop the following fundamental skills: throwing, catching, running, along with learning the strategies of offense and defense. Flags will be provided. No other equipment is needed. Baseball/football shoes with rubber cleats may be worn however tennis shoes work as well. Home Alone!Youth Enrichment ClassesAges 8+ Motivating and Inspiring Minds—Ariane Bromberg Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child. Indoor Dragon Youth Soccer Gr. K-6SoccerSchedule Update - The Grades 2-3 & Grades 4-6 soccer will be moved to the LARC due to scheduling conflicts. Soccer is fast, fun and a great sport for all ages. Learn and improve soccer skills, teamwork and strategy by playing organized games in our inhouse soccer program. Volunteer coaches are required by the registration deadline. Coaches do not need a background in soccer, only a desire to help kids have a positive experience. Schedule is subject to change. Any changes will be communicated with families. Participants should have shin guards and their own soccer ball; #4 for ages 4-7 and #5 for ages 8+. If you register your child after the deadline, you are not guaranteed a jersey. If you cancel your registration after the deadline and jerseys have already been ordered, you will not receive a refund for the jersey fee. Legion BasketballBasketballLHS Varsity Coaching Staff Legion Basketball focuses on fundamentals and developing the skills and knowledge needed to play basketball. Phase one includes a two week camp put on by the high school basketball coaches. The second phase will focus on fundamentals and playing league games on Mondays and Thursdays through the end of February. Practice times vary but will be between 5:30-8:30 PM. A formal season schedule will be handed out following camp. Boys Legion phase 2 will begin on November 3. Girls Legion phase 2 will begin on November 10. Parents are responsible for providing/organizing all transportation to this activity for their child.
